(This article gives a list of JEE Main B.Arch Colleges, Number of Seats, Admission Process and Admission to other Architecture colleges in the country)
India has more than 350 architecture colleges and so there is a tough competition to secure a seat in one of these institutes and also can not neglect the state quota for admission in NITs and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. JEE Main Paper 2 admission 2016-17 will be conducted on April 3, 2016, in Pen & Paper mode across many centres throughout India. Candidates who have secured 50% aggregate marks in class 12 in five subjects as well as passed individually in Mathematics are eligible to appear in the exam.
Out of the total 31 National Institues of Technology (NITs) in the country, only 9 offer admission in B.Arch Course and there are 559 B.Arch Seats in these NITs. There are 5 CFTIs/SFTIs which also offer B.Arch/B.Planning Course and there are 331 seats. These institutes offer admission on the basis of Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). CSAB conducts a common counselling process for engineering/architecture admission.
Eligibility for appearing in JEE (Main) – 2016

Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE)
Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2014 or 2015; or those who are appearing in their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2016 are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2016. Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2013 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2017 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) – 2016. Candidates who appeared in class 12th/equivalent qualifying Examinations in 2013, did not pass in 2013, but passed in 2014 are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) 2016.
Date of Birth
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1991 are eligible. However, in the
case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates, upper
age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PwD candidates who are born on or after October 01, 1986 are
eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will only be
considered.

Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination(QE)
Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/ qualifying examination in order to be eligible
for writing JEE (Main) - 2016. The candidates who have taken four subjects are not permitted to write JEE
(Main) 2016 and if such candidates appear in JEE (Main) 2016 by furnishing wrong information, their
rank/result will not be declared.

B.Arch at Jamia Milia Islamia used to conduct its own Entrance Exam for admission in architecture but from the academic year 2016-17 the admission will be based on JEE Main Paper 2.

- B.Arch at Pearl Academy- Pearl Academy also conducts its own Entance Exam for admission to B.Arch/B.Planning Course. But it also takes admission on the bases of NATA
- B.Arch through NATA- NATA is conducted by Council of Architecture and most of the institutes/colleges accept NATA scores. There are around 387 institutes in India that offers admission in the five-years B.Arch degree course on the basis of National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). >>Details of NATA 2016
